Your First Crypto Card Payment: A Simple Walkthrough

Your First Crypto Card Payment: A Simple Walkthrough

The easiest way to try a crypto-funded card is to start with a purchase you already planned. You know what you want to pay for and what the checkout total is. From there, you can set up a card in Telegram and move some of the crypto you hold into a balance for that purchase.

Here is how to make your first payment, from card setup in Telegram to checking the transaction afterward.

Start with the checkout total

Look at the final amount and currency before you set up the card. Is the purchase in dollars or euros? Does the merchant show any extra amount before you confirm? Having the total in front of you makes it easier to choose a card currency and decide how much to top up.

You can use a virtual card for an eligible online purchase wherever the merchant and card program support it. The merchant handles it as a card payment. You manage the card and its balance in Telegram.

Choose and issue your card in Telegram

Open our Telegram app and choose a virtual card. Standard cards cost 9 USDT to issue and VIP cards cost 85 USDT. Both have USD and EUR options. Give the card a name that will make sense later, such as “Travel” or “Monthly tools.”

Next, fund your wallet with enough supported crypto to cover the issuance charge and the card top-up you plan to make. USDT and USDC are options, alongside BTC, ETH and other assets listed in the app. Match the asset and network shown in Telegram to the asset and network you are sending.

Once the wallet is funded, issue the card. Card issuance takes under 60 seconds. You can view your card details, balance and billing address in Telegram. If you later use more than one card, naming each one helps you see which balance belongs to which purpose. You can hold up to five active cards.

Add crypto and top up deliberately

Top up the issued card from your wallet with the amount you intend to spend.

The minimum top-up is $20. USD top-ups have a 2.8% fee, and an additional fixed 1 USDT fee may apply. Network fees may also apply. Check the displayed quote before confirming so you know how much will reach the card. There is no monthly maintenance fee and no purchase fee.

That deliberate top-up is the useful part of the routine. You can keep the rest of your crypto separate and give this card a balance for the purchase in front of you. When you have another expense, you can top up again.

Pay using familiar card details

Once the balance is available, enter the virtual card details at an eligible online checkout. The payment step is familiar even though you funded the card with crypto. If your card is eligible for Apple Pay or Google Pay, you can also add it to a supported wallet for contactless payments where that wallet and merchant support the transaction.

Your supported 3D Secure codes and one-time passwords arrive in Telegram. You can check the card balance and transaction history there too. After your first purchase, that record shows what you spent and what is left for the next one.

Make the next purchase even simpler

Once you have completed one payment, the process becomes a routine: check the price, choose the right card, top up for the expense and pay. A separate card for subscriptions, travel or work tools can make future spending easier to organize. If you need to stop using a card, you can freeze or terminate it in Telegram.

You do not need to move your whole crypto balance or learn a new way to check out. Start with one ordinary purchase. Open woocard in Telegram, review the current quote and prepare the card balance you want to use.
